Summer Unplugged is a free community program hosted by the Minot Family YMCA in partnership with Prairie Grit Adaptive Sports and supported by HESS. This inclusive event series offers fun, themed activities for kids of all ages throughout July. Each session is designed to promote movement, creativity, and connection in a welcoming environment open to the entire community.

Adaptive Track and Field
Adaptive Track & Field provides athletes of all abilities the opportunity to develop speed, endurance, and coordination in a supportive environment. Participants will engage in a variety of track and field activities tailored to their needs and abilities, promoting fitness and skill development.
Adaptive Fishing Day
Details
Adaptive Fishing Day at Van Hook, ND will be Thursday, July 10 from 9:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. This event is for adaptive participants ages 5 to adult. Lunch will be provided following the day on the water. Please bring snacks, drinks, sunscreen, bug spray, a towel, a swimsuit, a camping chair, and a life jacket if available. Ages 16+ will be required to purchase a fishing license ahead of time. Participants will have the opportunity to go out into a boat or pontoon (a power lift is available if needed) and learn all about fishing from some of the best in the area. There will be fishing contests and prizes. Do note only 2 people (participant and parent/caregiver) are preferred on the boat with the driver. There is a public beach, picnic shelter, volleyball court, and playground near the boat docks.
Directions from Minot: go south on Highway 83 for approximately 15 miles, turn right (west) on Highway 23 (1 mile past 233rd Ave), turn left (south) on Highway 8, and go to the boat docks.

iCan Bike Camp
Details
This five-day bike camp is nationally recognized to help individuals with special needs learn to ride a two-wheeled bicycle. Including balance, self-starting, and stopping. The iCan Bike Camp will be held at the Minot Family YMCA. Dropping off Riders at the program is not permitted. A parent, legal guardian or other adult authorized to take responsibility for the Rider (e.g. another parent) must remain on site for duration of each day's 75-minute program.

Brady Samson Memorial Water Sports Day
Details
The Annual Brady Samson Memorial Water Sports Day will be Saturday, August 2 from 8:00 A.M to 5:00 P.M. at Hahn's Bay, Lake Metigoshe (near Bottineau, ND). Activities will include adaptive water skiing, tubing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. Ski participants are limited. Lifejackets will be provided if needed. Lunch will be provided. Bring sunscreen, towels, camping chairs, and your snacks and drinks. Event is free of charge.

Sled Hockey Development Camp
The Sled Hockey Development Camp is a multi-day training experience co-hosted by Prairie Grit Adaptive Sports and Team USA. This annual event is open to adaptive athletes of all skill levels and includes on-ice instruction, off-ice workouts, and skill-building sessions led by Team USA players and coaches.
Scheels BurliMOT Adaptive Run, Walk & Roll
The Scheels BurliMOT Adaptive Run, Walk & Roll is a one-mile inclusive event for individuals with disabilities of all ages and mobility levels. Whether using a wheelchair, walker, or simply moving at your own pace, participants are encouraged to run, walk, or roll through a supportive and celebratory course.

Prairie grit Annual Banquet

PG Pedal Club - Summer Bike Group
PG Pedal Club is a summer biking group for adaptive participants looking to ride in a safe, structured environment. Held on the track at Ramstad Middle School or at the walking trail near Jack Hoeven Ball Park, this event is open to riders ages 5 and up using their own bikes or borrowing from Prairie Grit’s fleet of adaptive cycles. Available bikes include recumbent bikes, hand cycles, and tricycles in a variety of sizes.
Riders of all abilities are welcome to participate. Helmets are required—participants may bring their own or borrow one on site.

Adventure Camp at Triangle Y Camp
Details
Prairie Grit Adventure Camp is a fun-filled day at the Triangle Y Camp. Activities to include: swimming, arts and crafts, campfire, climbing tower, horseback riding, and exploring camp. Lunch and Dinner are included on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. This event is for Prairie Grit participants (ages 5+) and their family members. Spots are limited. Pre-registration is required. Only the purchase of one ticket per entire family is needed. Overnight stay or just Saturday day options are provided.

Adaptive Rock Climbing
Adaptive Rock Climbing at the Minot Family YMCA provides a safe and supportive environment for climbers of all abilities. Whether you’re new to climbing or experienced, this program offers a chance to build strength, confidence, and technique with guidance from expert instructors. Adaptive equipment is available to ensure a successful experience for all participants.

Cost: Free
Eligibility: Adaptive participants ages 5 and up
Required: Participant consent form
Climbing gear is provided. Participants should wear comfortable athletic clothing and bring a water bottle.

Adaptive Cheer Camp
Adaptive Cheer Camp offers participants ages 5 to 12 the chance to learn basic cheerleading skills in a supportive and inclusive environment. The camp is led by the Rugby Panthers Cheer Team and focuses on movement, teamwork, and building confidence through cheer routines and fun activities.

Evenings on the Range | Adaptive Shooting Event
Evening on the Range at Velva Wildlife Club offers a unique adaptive shooting experience for all abilities. Participants will have the chance to try shotguns, bows, crossbows, and rifles, with safety equipment provided. Personal firearms and bows are welcome. This event is open to individuals aged 8 and up, providing a safe, supportive, and fun environment for everyone.

Adaptive Track & Field provides athletes of all abilities the opportunity to develop speed, endurance, and coordination in a supportive environment. Participants will engage in a variety of track and field activities tailored to their needs and abilities, promoting fitness and skill development.

This adaptive group fitness class is tailored for athletes of all abilities, providing a supportive environment where you can build physical power and confidence. With expert guidance, you’ll engage in exercises designed to enhance strength and stability, with modifications that meet each participant’s unique needs. Prairie Grit Power meets every Tuesday from 4:00 to 4:45 pm, welcoming participants ages 10 through adults. Join us and discover the possibilities of fitness without limits—your strength journey starts here

LEGO Club
LEGO Club offers children with special needs ages 5 and up a fun and inclusive environment to build, create, and connect. Hosted in the YMCA Community Room, this weekly club features engaging LEGO-based activities designed to support fine motor skills, visual-motor coordination, visual perception, problem-solving, and social interaction. Participants are encouraged to bring a friend or sibling to join in the fun.

Adaptive Golf
Swing into summer with Adaptive Golf—designed for individuals with disabilities to learn, play, and enjoy the game in a supportive setting. Whether you’re new to the sport or looking to sharpen your skills, each session offers personalized instruction and adaptive support.

Adaptive Soccer Practices is a collaboration with the Minot Soccer Association and will take place at the North Dakota State Fair Grounds in the Commerical 1 Building on Mondays at 5:30 P.M. Games will take place on Thursdays at 5:30 P.M.
