Adaptive Soccer

Details:

A first-time Prairie Grit activity, Adaptive Soccer Practices is a collaboration with the Minot Soccer Association and will take place at the North Dakota State Fair Grounds in the Commerical 1 Building on Mondays in June at 5:30 P.M. Games will take place on Thursdays at 5:30 P.M.

Dance Camp

Details:

Summer Adaptive Dance Camp 2024 at Minot Family YMCA. This event is for all abilities ages 5 to 15 years of age. The camp will be $15 to register.

Get ready to groove and move with us for three days starting on Tue, Jun 04, 2024, at 3:00 PM. This camp is all about having fun, making friends, and learning some awesome dance moves. Adaptive Golf

Details

Come join us for a summer of adaptive golf practice at Vardon Golf Club. Golf practices will be on Wednesday mornings. There will be two sessions where our coaches will divide players into an 8:30 A.M. and a 9:30 A.M. session. Sessions will be determined after registration is filled. Registration is free of charge. Ages five and up.

Details

Wheelchair basketball camp

Details

The 2024 Wheelchair Basketball Camp at the Minot Family YMCA June 11 through June 13 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:30 P.M. Whether you're a seasoned player or new to the sport, this camp is perfect for all skill levels. This three-day camp is for adaptive participants and up to two friends or family members to join. $20 for the whole camp or $10 day pass. Sports chairs will be provided and registration is required.

Itty Bitty Sports camp

Details

The main objective of this camp is to teach young children ages 3-6 about different sports and to have fun. Basketball, Football, Soccer, T-ball, Hockey, and other activities will be completed. The group is designed specifically for children with special needs. There will be two Itty Bitty Sports Camps in 2024 held at the Minot Family YMCA in the Group Fitness Room.

Adventure Camp

Details

Prairie Grit Adventure Camp is a fun-filled day at the Triangle Y Camp. Activities to include: swimming, arts and crafts, campfire, climbing tower, horseback riding, and exploring camp. Lunch and Dinner are included on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. This event is for Prairie Grit participants (ages 5+) and their family members. Spots are limited. Pre-registration is required. Only the purchase of one ticket per entire family is needed. Overnight stay or just Saturday day options are provided.

YMCA Summer Unplugged

Details

Summer Unplugged at the Minot Family YMCA is a free summer program for children in the community sponsored by HESS. The YMCA and Prairie Grit Adaptive Sports have come together to bring Summer Unplugged back in 2024 with in-person events with the help of other local partners.

Adaptive Fishing Day

Details

Adaptive fishing day at Van Hook, ND will be Thursday, July 11 from 9:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. This event is for adaptive participants ages 5 to adult. Lunch will be provided following the day on the water. Please bring snacks, drinks, sunscreen, bug spray, a towel, a swimsuit, a camping chair, and a life jacket if available. Ages 16+ will be required to purchase a fishing license ahead of time. Participants will have the opportunity to go out into a boat or pontoon (a power lift is available if needed) and learn all about fishing from some of the best in the area. There will be fishing contests and prizes. Do note only 2 people (participant and parent/caregiver) are preferred on the boat with the driver. There is a public beach, picnic shelter, volleyball court, and playground near the boat docks.

Directions from Minot: go south on Highway 83 for approximately 15 miles, turn right (west) on Highway 23 (1 mile past 233rd Ave), turn left (south) on Highway 8, and go to the boat docks.

iCan Bike Camp

Details

This five-day bike camp is nationally recognized to help individuals with special needs learn to ride a two-wheeled bicycle. Including balance, self-starting, and stopping. The iCan Bike Camp will be held at the Minot Family YMCA. Dropping off Riders at the program is not permitted.  A parent, legal guardian or other adult authorized to take responsibility for the Rider (e.g. another parent) must remain on site for duration of each day's 75-minute program.

Accompanied by parent/guardian willing and able to intervene or assist staff as requested in addressing  any prolonged disruptive or aggressive behavior

Adaptive Cheer Camp

Details

Learn cheerleading fundamental skills and activities with the Rugby Panthers Cheer Team at the Minot Family YMCA. For ages 5-12. Pre-registration is required, spots are limited.

Brady Samson Memorial Water Sports Day

Details

The Annual Brady Samson Memorial Water Sports Day will be Saturday, August 3 from 8:00 A.M to 5:00 P.M. at Hahn's Bay, Lake Metigoshe (near Bottineau, ND). Activities will include adaptive water skiing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. Ski participants are limited. Lifejackets will be provided if needed. Lunch will be provided. Bring sunscreen, towels, camping chairs, and your snacks and drinks. The event is free of charge.
